Gallery North Website

I designed and developed the website for Gallery North, a long-standing artist cooperative gallery located in downtown Edmonds. The project focused on modernizing the gallery’s digital presence while preserving the warmth, accessibility, and community-centered identity that has defined the organization for more than sixty years. The redesign emphasized a clean, editorial-inspired visual system intended to elevate both the artwork and the artists themselves. I developed the site architecture, visual direction, typography pairings, color palette refinements, and responsive layouts to create a more cohesive and contemporary experience across desktop and mobile devices.

Key goals of the project included:

  • Improving navigation and usability for visitors seeking exhibitions, events, and artist information
  • Creating a stronger visual identity aligned with the gallery’s role within the Edmonds arts community
  • Increasing visibility for member artists through enhanced artist directory and exhibition presentation systems
  • Building flexible content structures for rotating monthly exhibits, featured artists, and community events
  • Strengthening calls-to-action for membership applications, donations, and newsletter engagement
  • Improving overall readability, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness

In addition to visual design, I implemented custom front-end styling and CMS customizations to support the gallery’s evolving programming needs, including dynamic featured content, exhibition promotion, event integration, and artist-focused layouts. The project balanced technical problem-solving with brand storytelling, creating a website that feels both professional and community-rooted.
